Representative of “Mos City Group” (MSG) announced submitting bid on the tender: For now, the tender documentation was purchased by Moscow-based MSG which founded the company MSG Montenegro, and the British “Cubus Lux” which hasn’t yet confirmed interest to submit the bid. “Mos City Group” is one of the largest construction companies in Russia which, among other things, invests in tourism. Major shareholder is Pavel Fux who visited Montenegro already and looked up Valdanos

Podgorica – Russian company “Mos City Group” has purchased the tender documentation for a long-term lease of former military resort “Valdanos” near Ulcinj. Given that the deadline for interested parties to submit their bids is scheduled for this Wednesday, the company will place its bid – announced one of the representatives of the Russian MSG.

Submission deadline was postponed twice. The primary deadline was March 3rd, but on the eve of closing the tender it was prolonged to April 6th and afterwards again until April 15th.

Beside the Russians who established here the company “MSG Montenegro”, the tender documentation for Valdanos was purchased by “Cubus Lux” from United Kingdom, but they haven’t confirmed the intention to submit the bid.

The head office of “Mos City Group” is in Moscow and its major shareholder and the Chairman of the Board is Russian businessman Pavel Fux who has already been to Montenegro and visited Valdanos in person.

“Mos City Group” is one of the largest construction companies in Russia and it is engaged in tourism investments as well. One part of shares of this company is quoted on London Stock exchange.

MSG is among companies which build towers in Moscow City (dubbed the “Russian Manhattan”) which is the city within a city and the most attractive location in Russia with business, residential, tourism and entertainment complexes.

One of the officials from MSG said yesterday to Daily Press “Vijesti” that they will submit their bid on Wednesday. He explained that the Russians are interested in Valdanos for quite a while and that the project is in the works for over a year. The official said that considerable investments in the hotel and residential complex on Valdanos are underway, and mentioned that Valdanos will get its marina as well. He told that “Mos City Group” will comply with all town planning conditions relating to Valdanos.

Information on the other company which purchased the tender documentation for Valdanos “Cubus Lux” can be found on Internet. On the company’s site, if this is the same company, it is said that they are focused on tourism development in Croatia.

Valdanos is offered on a 30-year lease with the possibility of lease extension. This beautiful embayment covers land area of nearly 3.5 sq m and it is just a few kilometers far from Ulcinj. Valdanos is considered to be the most attractive location in Montenegro. Valdanos’s beach is 300 meter-long and merely 11 meter-wide. In the very cove there is a military resort which is out of order, and total area of its facilities is 8.700 sq m. From three sides Valdanos is surrounded with hills covered with green vegetation and in its central part there is an immense olive grove.

The Rothschild banking family from United Kingdom expressed its interest in Valdanos at some time past when its members and representatives were guests to Montenegro on several occasions, but they have probably gave up the idea.

When public invitation for expression of interest for the lease of “Valdanos” and “Ostrvo Cvijeca” was launched, the Tender Commission publicly announced that 16 companies and consortiums applied.
