On Wednesday April 15, U.S. Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Stephen L. Kontos presented a donation in Ulcinj provided by the U.S. military’s European Command. The donation, comprised of EKG Monitors, Defibrillators, and other equipment, is valued at $ 25,170.00.

The donation is a result of continued cooperation between Columbia and Albert Einstein University, Jacobi Hospital in New York, and Hospital in Ulcinj.

Doctors from Columbia and Albert Einstein Univeristies who worked during the summer in Ulcinj, Dr. Bristow, the Chief of Disaster Medicine at Columbia, and Dr Nano, one of the directors of the Health Center for Balkan immigrants at Jacobi Medical Center, were present at the event.

The donation event was complemented by community related projects including a visit by sailors of the USS Klakring to a local private High School “Drita” and a meeting with retired ship captains in Ulcinj.
