During his stay in Montenegro, Prime Minister Sali Berisha held a meeting with the chairman of the Democratic Union of Albanians (part of the ruling coalition) Mehmet Zenka.

Expressing his pleasure at welcoming PM Berisha in Podgorica, MP Zenka conveyed the best wishes of the Albanians of Montenegro. MP Zenka expressed on behalf of the Albanians of Montenegro a positive assessment for PM Berisha personal important contribution and of the government of Albania as well for promotion of the national interests of the Albanians in Montenegro and everywhere they live.

MP Zenka informed PM Berisha about progress the Albanians in Montenegro have made towards promotion of their interests and of the nation in the framework of efforts within the ruling coalition, other institutions and beyond in Montenegro.

On his part, PM Berisha thanked for the warm hospitality and expressed a special pleasure at the progress the Albanians have made in Montenegro.

Further on, PM Berisha highlighted the very good relations between the two countries and reconfirmed the commitment of the government of Albania to important projects of cooperation in the field of infrastructure, education and tourism. The prime minister emphasized that these projects will serve to promotion of cooperation, friendship, trade exchanges, economic and tourist relations between the two countries as well as to further consolidate the close links among the Albanians in the two countries in their best interest while forging the friendship between the two countries.

 

Likewise, PM Berisha held a meeting with other leaders of the Albanian parties: Mehmet Bardhi, chairman of the Democratic League in Montenegro, Vasil Sinishtaj of the “Perspective” coalition and Genci Nimanbegu, leader of the New Democratic Force.

The leaders of the Albanian parties expressed their pleasure at the meeting with PM Berisha and voiced their estimation in his personal contribution and of the government of Albania in support of the efforts of the Albanians in Montenegro to protect and maintain their national and cultural identity.

During the meeting the leaders of the Albanian parties acquainted PM Berisha with the role and constant commitment of the Albanian political forces in the political life of the country and said their efforts for the progress of the Albanians in Montenegro will continue. Likewise, they acquainted PM Berisha with some problems on their way toward advance of the rights of the Albanian community in infrastructure or education and considered important finding a just solution in the benefit of the Albanian citizens.

On his part, PM Berisha expressed his pleasure at meeting the representatives of the Albanian political forces and congratulated them on their role and contribution to the political life of the country as well as their commitment to the progress the Albanians in Montenegro have made.
