When photographer Galiya Sabitova took this picture on holiday in Ulcinj, Montenegro, she didn’t even notice the unusual cloud formation until her husband pointed out that it bore a striking resemblance to an eagle in flight

At first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking that this is an eagle swooping over a beach at sunset.

On closer inspection, it becomes clear that the ‘bird’ is in fact a cloud.

And the setting sun even makes it appear as though there is a shadow on the underside of the ‘wing’

Photographer Galiya Sabitova captured the unusual formation while on holiday in Ulcinj, Montenegro, in June.

Galiya, 30, an engineer from Moscow, said: ‘I didn’t notice it at once, but when I looked back at the picture on my camera, it was clear as day.

‘My husband saw it on photo and thought it was a real bird in the beginning.

‘This bird was “flying” for about five minutes before it transitioned to common cirrus clouds.

‘I was lucky to be able to capture it.’
