Montenegrin ministers announced direct airline from Dubai to Podgorica

United Arab Emirates, UAE observe   Montenegro as a potential tourist and business destination, and to strengthen economic cooperation will be provided direct air connections from Dubai to Montenegro,  Podgorica,  announced the UAE Economy Minister Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansuri.

Together with Montenegrin Ministers of Transport and Economics Andrija Lompar and Vladimir Kavaric, UAE minister  signed agreements on air transportation and economic cooperation.

Lompar explained that Montenegro has signed for the first time an agreement on cooperation in air traffic, which includes the so-called “fifth freedom”.

“It means that planes and transporters from the UAE are free to use us at the airport and fly with them to other destinations, as the reciprocity applies to our aircraft that can fly from the airport in the UAE. Our assessment is that the fifth freedom may davaljanj only be used for both countries “, Lompar explained.

“Montenegro is observed and the potential business and tourist destinations and consequently to enhance economic ties we will provide direct line between Dubai, Adu Dhabi and Montenegro,” said Al Mansuri, UAE minister of economy.

He said that the UAE has five national airlines, three of which are flying within the country.

“We hope that some of them will soon fly to Montenegro,”, the UAE minister added.

UAE, Montenegro ink economic cooperation agreement

WAM Podgorica, Montenegro, 8th Oct. 2011 (WAM) — Visiting UAE Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri has expressed the UAE’s desire to take its economic relations with Montenegro to promising advanced levels.

Al Mansouri made his remarks during talks with Prime Minister of Montenegro Igor Luksic which explored avenues of joint economic cooperation and investment opportunities that economic sectors in both countries will offer. Vladimir Kavaric, Minister of Economy was present at the talks.

“The Government of Montenegro is creating preconditions for new investment in Montenegro’s economy and its development, through reforms, infrastructure development and building good business environment,” said PM Luksic as quoted by website of Government of Montenegro. He added that in addition to already successful projects in tourism, the two countries could have good investment cooperation in the areas of agriculture, industry and banking.

The UAE minister briefed his host on results of his visit and a series of economic agreements he signed with ministers economy and transport.

He said his visit aimed to discuss adequate means of bolstering economic relations, increasing trade exchange and encouraging flow of investment into economic sectors of mutual interest along with removing all obstacles hindering that objective.

Al Mansouri and his counterpart Vladimir Kavaric signed an agreement on economic cooperation, which creates the institutional framework for cooperation especially in tourism, industry, agriculture and small and medium-size enterprises.

An air transport agreement between the two countries was also sealed by Al Mansouri and Transport Minister of Montenegro Andrija Lompar .

Al Mansouri underlined that Montenegro, a unique and extraordinary country, has excellent potentials for further development and added that UAE entrepreneurs, some of whom accompanied him during his three-day trip to Podgorica, are interested in further investment projects in Montenegro.

” This State is promising and we are looking forward to tap all investment opportunities on offer especially in areas of agricultural investment, food industries, tourism and transport. Montenegro is accelerating its pace for reforms in line with European standards to become a EU member,” the UAE minister indicated.

Top economic officials as well as businessmen in both countries held a series of interactive talks and road shows on best mechanisms to establish viable trade and investment relations.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Shehi, UAE Ministry of Economy Undersecretary, said the two sides had agreed to set up a mechanism to follow up results of the visit.
