Halil Kanacevic (Staten Island, N.Y.) has quickly made a name for himself across the water.

The former St. Joseph’s standout was named EuroBasket.com Player of the Week after notching a double-double in Union Olimpija’s (Slovenia) 81-77 Eurocup win over Dijon (France). The skilled 6’8″ forward netted 27 points (64.3 FG%) and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Second Stage win.

Kanacevic competed against a familiar face on Wednesday night, former Christ the King star Erving Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Walker, now in his third professional season, scored nine points in the game.
